We are working to provide an increasing share of our customer communications in digital format. In practice, this mainly means news and notifications being sent by email. You will, however, continue to receive letters related to your contract free of charge in your physical mailbox if you prefer.

How to make sure you receive our messages electronically in the future

If you have provided us with a valid email address, you will generally receive our communications electronically going forward.

Contract-related customer letters are sent on our behalf by a distribution service provider. For this reason, these messages may differ in appearance from our other electronic communications when they arrive in your inbox.

If your email address stops working or if message delivery is blocked, contract-related letters will be sent to you by mail in paper format. To ensure you continue receiving our communications electronically, please remember to keep your contact details up to date.

How to continue receiving paper communications

You can continue to receive contract-related customer letters—such as price or terms updates—free of charge to your mailbox.

If you do not use email or have not provided an email address, you don’t need to do anything. In that case, you will automatically continue to receive your letters by mail as usual.

If you would like to keep receiving contract-related letters by mail, while ensuring that other types of customer communications are delivered to your email, please proceed as follows:

  1. Provide or update your contact details according to the instructions below
  2. Contact our customer service and request that letters continue to be delivered to you by post

How to provide or update your contact details

You can submit missing contact details or update previously provided information through our online service.

By keeping your contact details up to date, you ensure that you receive all communications related to your customer relationship electronically.

If you prefer not to use the online service, you can also update your contact details using this separate form.

These communications can be delivered electronically OR by post
  • Customer letters related to your contract, such as price or term update notifications.

Contract-related customer letters are sent on our behalf by a distribution service provider. As a result, these messages may look different from our other electronic communications if you receive them by email.

If your email address stops working or if message delivery is blocked, these letters will be sent to you in paper format. To ensure continued electronic delivery, please remember to update your contact details when needed.

I’m hesitant to open a message sent via the distribution service provider—can I receive it another way?

It’s wise to stay cautious, and we completely understand your concern. We are currently developing a solution that will allow you to view customer letters in our Online service or the Vaasan Sähkö app in the near future. We will inform you once this option becomes available.

Until then, the only alternative to messages sent via the provider is to receive the letter by post. If you have blocked messages from the provider, the letter will automatically be sent to you by mail.

How will I know when a customer letter is on its way?

We aim to always announce on our website in the “News” section when we are contacting customers by letter. Depending on your customer relationship, letters may be sent by Vaasan Sähkö (district heating contract), Vaasan Sähkö Myynti (electricity contract), or Vaasan Sähköverkko (distribution services).
