
The electricity tax will increase from April 1
Due to a legislative change, the strategic stockpile fee, a part of the electricity tax, will increase on April 1, 2026 with 0,072 cents/kWh, which raises the total electricity tax in both tax classes.
Electricity tax category 1: From April 1, the tax is 2.917875 cents per kWh.
It consists of the energy tax (2.24 cents/kWh), the strategic stockpile fee (0.085 cents/kWh), and 25.5% VAT.
Electricity tax category 2: From April 1, the tax is 0.169425 cents per kWh.
It consists of the energy tax (0.05 cents/kWh), the strategic stockpile fee (0.085 cents/kWh), and 25.5% VAT.
The electricity tax is billed on the electricity distribution invoice. The increased electricity tax will show for the first time on the invoice of consumption in April, which will be sent to you, at the earliest, in the beginning of May.
