what is the difference between different electricity?

Fixed electricity contract for housing company

Fixed is a fixed-term electricity contract, allowing you to forget about electricity concerns and avoid constantly monitoring market fluctuations. As your contract period nears its end, we’ll send you a new offer well in advance.

The price of Fixed remains the same for the entire duration of the contract period, so you don’t need to worry about price increases.

Fixed is also an emission-free contract where electricity is producted with nuclear power. The origin is verified with guarantees of origin. The electricity contract plays a significant role in your carbon footprint. Fixed is an excellent choice, as the electricity is produced without emissions.

Influencer electricity contract for housing company

The price of Vaasan Sähkö’s Influencer electricity contract consists of a basic fee, an energy charge, and a customer-specific component based on the user’s own influence on their electricity price. The pricing of the energy charge changes quarterly.

Having your own influence allows you to have a more affordable energy fee. If you use the most electricity when the electricity price on the exchange is low (typically at night and on weekends), your own influence lowers your price and you get savings on your bill.

On the other hand, if you use energy the most when the electricity price on the exchange is expensive (typically on weekday mornings and evenings), the bill will be increased due to the effect of own influence increasing the price.

Exchange Electricity for housing company

Under an Exchange electricity contract, the price of electricity is always made up of three parts: a fixed monthly payment, an hourly spot price and a commission fee. During hours that the spot price is negative, the electricity price consists of the same elements as when the spot price is positive: the spot price and the commission.

The area price for Exchange electricity in Finland is determined by Nord Pool’s electricity exchange. The spot prices for each day are announced the day before, allowing you to plan your electricity use in advance.

Exchange electricity is especially suitable for situations in which you are able to regulate your use of electricity well and you are motivated to follow the developments in spot prices.

Basic Electricity for housing company

Basic Electricity is particularly suitable if you want to keep things simple when it comes to your electricity supply, don’t want to monitor your consumption on an hourly basis or commit to a fixed-rate, fixed-term contract.

The price for Basic Electricity is adjusted four times a year according to the changes in market prices. With an indefinite-term contract, you’re free to change to a different contract whenever you like.

Basic Electricity is produced emission-free with nuclear power. The origin is verified with guarantees of origin.

Wind Power for housing company

Choosing a contract for renewable electricity is one of the easiest ways to reduce your carbon footprint. The energy supplied under our Wind Power contract is verified with guarantees of origin.

The contract does not include a fixed term, so it is easy to change to another energy alternative if your needs change.

Exchange Electricity Wind for housing company

Exchange Electricity Wind is also produced with renewable energy. Choosing a contract for renewable electricity is one of the easiest ways to reduce your carbon footprint. The energy supplied under our Wind Power contract is verified with guarantees of origin.

In addition, with an indefinite-term contract, you’re free to change to a different contract whenever you like.

Housing companies that consume more than 100 MWh a year get an offer from our business sales.

How quickly can I get an offer?

We will answer all offer requests as soon as possible, but no later than a few business days.

How to choose the right electricity contract for my housing company?

You should select the electricity contract based on how much electricity your housing company consumes annually. If the consumption exceeds 100 MWh, we will provide your housing company with a customized offer based on your consumption.

If you consume less than that, you should think whether a fixed-term or indefinite-term contract suits your housing company best and whether you would like to have a fixed-price contract or an exchange electricity contract in which the price follows the market price.

You can read a comprehensive comparison of all the different electricity contracts here and try the contract assistant tool that helps you find the electricity contract best suited for your housing company.

How do I transfer my electricity contract to you from another supplier?

If you accept our offer, we will take care of everything necessary to change your electricity supplier for you.

Can I change my electricity supplier during a fixed-term contract?

No. You must wait until the end of the fixed-term contract before switching to us.

The exception is in the case of moving house: if you’re moving, you can request the electricity vendor to terminate the fixed-term contract early. This way, you are free to sign a new contract with us for your new home.

At which point before an existing contract terminates can I ask for an offer for a new contract period?

You can ask for an offer at any time! It’s good to react early, because that gives you more time to compare the alternatives. We update our offer as the electricity market situation changes.

What do I pay for in electricity?

The price of electricity consists of the energy price, electricity distribution charges, and electricity and value-added taxes (VAT).

You pay the energy price to your electricity supplier as part of your electricity bill. The Electricity distribution charges, on the other hand, are determined and billed by your local electricity network company. Both bills also include taxes: electricity tax is based on your electricity consumption and is included in the transmission bill. VAT is charged on the energy price, transmission charges, electricity tax, and security of supply fee. Taxes account for at least one-third of the total electricity price you pay as a
