If you enter into an electricity contract online, you will need to identify yourself via your bank identification. By phone, you will be identified by your social security number.
For an electricity contract, the electricity company needs 1 ) your name 2) social security number 3) new home address and 4) date when you would like the electricity to be connected. The date can be changed afterwards.

If you live within the distribution area of Vaasan Sähköverkko, you will still get a bill from the company when changing energy supplier. Your local distribution company will continuously take care of distributing the energy to your home and charge for it.
This always depends on your local distribution company. Call us right away on number 06 324 5750, and we’ll sort it out. At the same time, we’ll find out whether the distribution company will charge a fee for express connection. We always recommend that you contact us ahead of time to make a new electricity contract.
The express connection fee is charged by the local distribution company for rapid connection of electricity.
The size of the fee and the criteria for charging are company-specific. The express connection fee can be charged if the electricity is to be switched on within two days of signing an electricity contract. For this reason, it is not worth leaving the electricity contract to the last minute, but rather best to handle it in good time, preferably a few weeks before moving.
